What is a KAM Snap?

June 26, 2017

KAM snaps are a convenient alternative to sew-on buttons. They are installed with one of our easy-to-use snap setting tools that require no sewing. Attaching a snap takes only a few seconds, making them a great time-saver when used in place of traditional buttons.  Our setting tools require no hammering and yield consistent results.

KAM plastic snaps, unlike many other brands and off-brands of plastic snaps on the market, are professional grade.  They are considered the gold standard.  With the exception of clear and glow-in-the-dark snaps, KAM plastic snaps are made of polyoxymethylene (POM), a high-density plastic that is stronger and more durable than other types of plastic. They are BPA-free and have been tested for lead and phthalate content to comply with CPSIA regulations for children's products.

Because KAM plastic snaps are so durable, even after years of machine washing and drying, you'll find them on a wide range of products such as bibs, clothing, unpaper towels, reusable menstrual pads, g-tube pads, and more.   KAM snaps are commonly used on cloth baby diapers, a preference over velcro which is prone to wear out over time or collect debris, especially for parents of toddlers who have learned to unfasten velcro.  Because our snaps are x-ray safe, they are also used on hospital gowns.

Not only are KAM snaps durable, versatile, and easy to install, they are also very affordable and come in over a hundred different gorgeous colors to match your fabric. One of the most common comments we receive from people who have used KAM snaps for the first time is, "Why did I wait so long?"
