Common applications:

  • Purse straps - 8mm or 9mm normally recommended for fabric straps, 10mm for vinyl /leather straps.
  • Key fobs (aka "snap" tabs) - 6mm, 8mm, 9mm, crystal
  • The above are just suggestions.  There is flexibility in sizes for each application.  Generally speaking, use longer rivets for thicker material and shorter rivets for thinner.


Approximate rivet measurements:
  • Cap diameter: 6mm (Small)
    • Stem Length: 6mm
    • Stem Diameter: 2.4mm
  • Cap diameter: 8mm, 9mm (Medium)
    • Stem Length: 6-8mm
    • Stem Diameter: 2.6mm
  • Cap diameter: 10mm (Large)
    • Stem Length: 8-10mm
    • Stem Diameter: 2.8mm

    6mm EXTRA LONG (6mm cap width x 12mm stem height).  These are longer than any other rivet we currently carry and would be good for extra thick materials.

    Note: Because these have a small cap, 2 rivets side-by-side are often used on bag straps.

      Great quality.

      This taught me to always reach out to Judy when you’re not sure what to order. Did I reach out? Nope! 🤪 Totally my fault! I was so focused on the long post size that I didn’t think about the cap size. They are smaller than I needed but I’m sure I’ll be able to use them. Remember - always check with Judy when in doubt!

      Great quality

      OK - there is zero wrong with these rivets BUT I was not paying attention and they are too small for my projects. I am bummed that the larger rivets don’t come with the longer posts. I would love to see a 9mm or 10mm rivet with the longer posts. Maybe I will find a use for these little guys.
