I saw these doggie earbud holders being sold for $7 each plus shipping, and thought I could easily make these myself. I couldn't find a pattern, but managed to draw one up. I am so proud of myself! :D
This easy, no sew DIY project makes wonderful use of your scrap fabric. I used felt, but you can use any material you have on hand that will not fray when cut such as marine vinyl, faux leather, fleece, etc. If using marine vinyl, or a thicker/stiffer material than soft fleece, you can also substitute size 20 KAM snap fasteners for the no-sew button "nose".
Materials needed:
Download pattern. Trace onto your fabric and cut.
Fold your pattern over. Using an awl, poke a hole through both layers of fabric where you want to place your snap fastener or "dog nose".
Using your KAM snap pliers or KAMsnaps KX8J professional handheld press, install your cap-socket, and cap-stud positioned as shown.
Your two caps will be set on one side.
Your socket and stud will be set on the other side.
Snap your button together and place a thick wad of paper between your fabric. Then use a permanent marker to draw your dog eyes. The paper will prevent your marker from bleeding through your fabric layer. Repeat on other side, as the front and back of your cord holder will be identical.
Everyone knows dogs run in a pack, so make a few and have a doggone fun time organizing your cords!
